Discover the versatile CUBORO marble run system

CUBORO, the Swiss marble run system, has been fascinating generations since 1986. It stands for sustainable wooden quality toys, lifelong fun and timeless design. CUBORO inspires people world wide to grow through play. The Swiss marble run system has been very popular in Japan for many years. Sebastian Etter, CEO of Cuboro AG and son of CUBORO inventor Matthias Etter, gives an introduction to CUBORO and participants discover the endless possibilities of the marble run system.

Learning through play

Originally created as a teaching aid, CUBORO now offers plenty of ways to learn through play. From simple surface marble runs to complex tunnel system combinations, CUBORO encourages and challenges children and adults to put their abilities to the test. From a very early age, the natural wood elements command attention, stimulate one’s sense of touch, and improve fine motor skills.

CUBORO elements have visible grooves on the surface, while hidden tunnels allow the marble to travel inside the cubes. This enables children to discover and understand that things around us are not always visible – a fundamental stage of their development. By incorporating concealed elements, this trains their power of imagination and lets them think and plan in inventive, proactive ways.

Playing with CUBORO also nurtures the ability to solve problems. If the marble comes to a halt, children can work out the correlation between cause and effect while having fun. It is also a simple way to understand physics-related topics such as gravity and acceleration.

Each CUBORO element is a small part of a greater whole. If the marble fails to complete the course, it may be enough to replace a single cube with another one. This also lets people be creative in rethinking the entire marble run and then rebuilding it level by level. The CUBORO elements have no fixed position, so they can be combined and rearranged time and again. Using the CUBORO elements in different ways trains the mind to reason through problems and think visually.
