The simplicity of complexity
The art of unpuzzling mathematics
This workshop invites you to experience the joy of playful discovery. Through puzzles built on simple rules, you’ll gradually uncover surprising complexity and elegant patterns. Whether you’re curious about math or just love solving challenges, this is a chance to stretch your mind, explore new ways of thinking, and enjoy the hidden geometry of puzzles.
Outline
This hands-on workshop is centered around two original puzzle games: Quadratis and Revolution. Designed for anyone aged 8 and up, these games offer a playful and intuitive entry point into mathematical thinking. Starting from simple rules, you’ll uncover intricate structures and surprising connections as you solve each challenge.
What makes these puzzles special is how they reveal complexity through play. As you explore, you’ll engage with vast networks of patterns and learn to recognize the hidden logic beneath the surface. It’s a creative and rewarding way to stretch your brain—no prior math background needed.
You’ll also have a unique opportunity to meet the creators of the games, as well as mathematicians and researchers who work at the intersection of art, logic, and design.
