Cosmogony – Live from Geneva to Yokohama
Digital avatars of Geneva dancers streamed in real time at Zou-no-Hana
On December 6, 2025, experience a unique fusion of dance, technology, and sustainability as three Geneva-based dancers perform live, their movements instantly streamed to Yokohama for the first time in Japan.
Cie Gilles Jobin’s Cosmogony transforms dancers into real-time digital avatars, presenting a live performance that has been seen in over 25 cities worldwide. This Japan debut is part of the ZOU-NO-HANA FUTURESCAPE PROJECT 2025.
The performance is captured at Studios44MocapLab in Geneva and streamed live to Zou-No-Hana Terrace, Yokohama. Cosmogony’s distribution challenges the traditional methods of disseminating choreographic works in light of climatic challenges and the carbon footprint of productions. By eliminating traditional touring, Cosmogony offers a low-carbon alternative while providing audiences a captivating experience that transcends distance.
The event includes a 30-minute performance followed by an online Q&A connecting viewers in Yokohama with the Geneva studio. Admission is free.
