MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL RESIDENCY

Every summer, on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, the Montreux Jazz Festival has, since its inception in 1967, stood as one of the world’s most iconic music festivals, creating unforgettable performances and memorable encounters. Building on this legacy, the Montreux Jazz Festival Residency was created to support and nurture the next generation of artists.

This annual autumn programme in Montreux is an intensive four-day residency designed for emerging musicians. Eight selected artists from around the world engage in workshops, rehearsals, jam sessions, and public performances under the guidance of internationally renowned mentors, providing a unique environment to develop their creativity and craft.

Each evening, the Residency opens its doors to the public, offering free access to workshops and live performances. By fostering cross-genre collaboration and cultural exchange, the Montreux Jazz Festival Residency creates a unique space where artists and audiences come together to share inspiration, creativity, and the very spirit of Montreux.

L’Osmose

Selected as one of the eight promising emerging artists for the 2nd Montreux Jazz Festival Residency 2024, L’Osmose brings a fresh and adventurous sound to the stage. Longtime friends who grew up in Geneva’s vibrant alternative scene, the band has spent the past four years fusing futuristic grooves with 1970s psychedelic influences.

This spring, they released their debut album on Stone Pixels Records, crafted with the invaluable support of L’Éclair. Their music weaves analog textures, ethereal melodies, and swirling percussion into a uniquely immersive soundscape. Lauded by critics and featured on stations such as KCRW, FIP, and Couleur 3, the album has established L’Osmose as one of Switzerland’s most exciting contemporary acts.

Building on the success of their Residency experience, L’Osmose makes their debut at the Montreux Jazz Festival Japan, ready to share their visionary sound with a new audience.
